Exactly 42 years ago, September 8th 1966, first episode of “Star Trek” premiered on USA TV. No one expected the show to have such an impact on humanity. The first broadcasted episode was “The Man Trap”. NBC decided that a monster flick would be a stronger opening to the series than “Where No Man Has Gone Before” – original pilot.

40th anniversary was preety sad for Trekkers and Trekkies. For the first time in 18 years no new episode was broadcasted and the latest feature movie turned out to be disappointment. Now there’s light in the tunnel – full feature “Star Trek” by J.J.Abrams and his crew.

Let’s hope that the 43rd and every other anniversary will be a joyous time for all the fans of this remarkable pop culture phenomenon.
